Qingzhen city has rolled out plans to govern three types of water – drinking water in rural areas, domestic sewage, and black and odorous water – to improve living conditions for local residents.

On April 6, several excavators were working at a polluted water pond that will be restored within 10 days. The pond was originally an abandoned fish breeding base, and has become a nuisance to nearby people due to the unpleasant odor it gives off and some safety concerns related to it.

The government has launched six water governance campaigns in Duijie town, Hongfenghu town, Weicheng town and other places in Qingzhen, and has included them as 2022 targets.

In addition, the city is strengthening its integrated water supply system and working to categorize different kinds of polluted water for more precise treatment.

The city will carry out one water supply guarantee project, deal with water pollution in 21 villages, and deal with black and odorous water sites this year.
