Qingzhen focuses on developing forest economy

Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been consistently adhering to the ecological principle of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and has redoubled efforts to develop its forest economy and bring more wealth and other practical benefits to local residents.

Taking full advantage of the city's forest resources, the government has initiated research and planting programs in forests, with bamboo fungus, gastiodia elates, and other plants found suitable to be grown in Qingzhen.

A work plan on the high-quality development of the forest economy was issued to advocate for the proper use of funds for forestry reforms and related projects, and to raise the comprehensive output value of products developed in relation to forests.

Qingzhen is also working to convey forest economy policies and documents released by the Guiyang and Guizhou governments, and has sent more than 300 professional talents to participate in the special training program on the forest economy arranged by provincial authorities.

Under the "enterprise + base + recreation and sightseeing + fine processing of forest-related products" framework, the city has cultivated leading firms in the field and created multiple models for better production and sales.

There are 56,964.7 hectares of forest in Qingzhen, of which 7,535.93 hectares are considered suitable for the development of the forest economy. In 2022, the city plans to establish 10 planting demonstration bases to inject new impetus into the local economy.
