Qingzhen invests in 20 farming land projects

Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province invested 49.15 million yuan ($7.77million) to construct 20 high-quality farming land projects in 2021. Construction on these projects has now resumed, and they are expected to be completed by the end of June this year, according to news from the city's bureau of agriculture and rural affairs on Feb 18.

Involving a total of 2,146.67 hectares of arable lands, these projects include the construction of three pumping stations, 15.02 kilometers of water supply pipes, 11 pools, 2.2 km of channels, 0.73 km of drain, 18 sites for culvert pipe installation, and 96.75 km of countryside roads.

The 20 projects were officially launched on Dec 20 last year, and about 25 percent of construction work was completed in the first month of construction.

To counter the adverse effect of recent low temperatures, the government has paid close attention to the weather changes and released relevant information to help construction teams better respond to possible disasters.
