The municipal government of the county-level city of Qingzhen – administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – on Jan 7 released a to-do list of 10 practical welfare projects to be undertaken in the current year.
The government report has announced it on that day, pledging to achieve visible results and benefit local residents.
The 10 projects contain 38 specific items in terms of the city's development, eco-friendly developments, employment, improvements in living conditions, the completion of infrastructure, education, community renovation and medical care.
The government promised to build two kindergartens, four school canteens and one primary school. Also on the agenda is the construction of 32 kilometers of rural roads, the optimizing of two bus routes and the building of six new bus stations – plus the revamping of eight laneways, 34 old residential areas and shanty towns involving 2,722 households.
What's more, an additional 2,200 parking spaces will be added to the city, which is also expected to open 165 public sports stadiums to the public and upgrade 10 rural clinics, among other things.
To transform Qinghzhen into a more convivial and livable place, the government plans to establish another 60,000 square meters of green areas, improve two waste transfer facilities and establish two demonstration communities for relocated residents.
