The county-level city of Qingzhen has in recent years been striving to make breakthroughs in three areas – convenient services, commercial scales and quality. The government has given full play to the role of market entities, expanded professional markets, boosted the large-scale development of commerce, and cultivated new growth engines for consumption. These measures have put Qingzhen on a rapid commercial development trajectory.
The Guiyang Shanshan Outlets project will finish construction soon. The shopping center will carry out trial operations from Dec 3-10, when the center will begin officially operating.
The Guiyang Shanshan Outlets are the 11th shopping center invested by Shanshan Commercial Group Co in China. "WIth the full support of the Qingzhen government, it only took us 14 months to build the shopping center, and it is the most expensive project we have ever undertaken. The shopping center has attracted more than 300 brands, about one third of which have begun establishing their shops at the center," said Shen Biao, general manager of the shopping center.
About thirty percent of the shopping center's area is green, and it features a music and light fountain. It is expected to make around 2 billion yuan ($300 million) in sales annually.
Meanwhile, Qingzhen's first mid and high-end consumption project, the Wuyue Square Shopping Center, has registered 300 million yuan in sales since it began operating in November 2020. During the National Day holiday, the center received an average of 35,000 daily visits and posted sales 30 percent higher than those of the May Day holiday.
