Since the beginning of this year, the government of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been working on guiding Party leaders and members to transfer what they have learnt from the Party's history into practical solutions to problems that concern common people most.

The grassroots Party organizations have been instructed to serve people in their regions. "As Party members, we have to fight for people's wellbeing," said Huang Shaolin,  secretary the leading Party members group of Qingzhen's logistics new city administrative committee.

Last week, under Huang's leadership, the committee participated in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control work, testing the health status of 1,124 people, and helping enterprises to get access to 37,370 masks and other anti-epidemic materials and supplies such as disinfectant and medical alcohol. Meanwhile, with the assistance and coordination of the committee, more than 500 farmers without land managed to find employment nearby.

Centering on safeguarding poverty alleviation results, rejuvenating rural areas, raising the city's basic-level governance, enhancing the State-owned economy and improving people's living standards, Qingzhen has launched special training programs in 753 Party branches within the city.

Government bodies at all levels have made to-do lists to solve practical problems in areas of employment, education, social insurance, medical care, housing, environment protection and social governance.

Wangzhuang town, for example, has formed 11 teams consisting of more than 300 Party members in the town. To date they have visited 9,840 households, collected over 160 opinions and suggestions, and resolved 170 disputed cases for locals.
