Qingzhen rolls out promotional campaign on safe use of cosmetics

Qingzhen's bureau of market regulation in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched a promotional campaign on the safe use of cosmetics on May 25.

Residents were educated about cosmetics-related shopping - as well as commonplace problems they may meet when applying their make-up - through the use of banners, brochures, posters and on-site instructions by officials from the bureau.

Systematic lectures were also given to more than 60 citizens concerning matters they care about most, such as how to choose a cosmetic product, how to buy them online, what to do if they experience an adverse reaction to a product, and how to choose make-up for kids based on their ages.

The bureau officials also went to 26 supermarkets, beauty salons and other shops where cosmetics are sold, to help sellers guide consumers to buy their products in an appropriate way, and encourage consumers to report products’ adverse reactions to the bureau.
