Groups representing the PLA Guiyang garrison, its veterans, family members of martyrs, government officials and citizens visited the Qingshanyuan revolutionary martyr monument in Qingzhen, a county-level city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 25.
The commemorative activities began with the national anthem, and then ceremonial soldiers laid wreaths and bunches of flowers in front of the martyrs' gravestones.
Members of the groups paid tribute to those heroes who fought for national independence and liberation, and strove for people's prosperity.
Recent years have seen Qingzhen's veterans and the family members of the martyrs traveling outside Guizhou to honor national heroes in Yunnan province and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. This year they chose to stay put, due to the pandemic.
