The power supply bureau in the county-level city of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province has recently strengthened the inspection of substations, power supply lines and electrical equipment.

The goal is to ensure the power supply of passenger terminals, hostels and gas stations during the Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 28 to March 8.

The bureau has established a leading group and arranged personnel to go to passenger terminals, bus stations, gas stations, hotels near rail and road stations, transport ticket offices and banks to conduct comprehensive investigations of power supply lines.

Meanwhile, the bureau has conducted special inspections of substations, power supply lines and electrical equipment related to the Spring Festival travel rush, increased or updated related equipment, and improved accident emergency plans to ensure a stable power supply during the holiday period.

The bureau has also organized staff members to check heavy-load operating lines by using infrared temperature measurements to ensure timely detection and elimination of hidden dangers and defects in equipment and power grids.

Emergency generator vehicles have also been on standby for 24 hours per day to guarantee the power supply during the 40-day travel rush.

Moreover, the bureau has maintained close contact with the local meteorological department to monitor the operating conditions of power supply lines 24 hours a day, and improved emergency response plans to deal with sudden severe weather during the Spring Festival.
