The fifth session of the sixth Qingzhen Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced on Jan 18 in the county-level city of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
A total of 174 members of the CPPCC Qingzhen Committee gathered to discuss the development plan for Qingzhen.
In 2020, Qingzhen strived to lift all of its underprivileged people out of poverty and achieved positive economic growth in the third quarter, said Fu Tao, Party chief of Qingzhen.

Fu stated that it is necessary to strengthen communication and contact with people from all walks of life to complete the key tasks of economic development, reform and innovation, agriculture and rural affairs, and attract more talents, funds and technologies to Qingzhen.
In the past year, 83 proposals were received from members of the CPPCC Qingzhen Committee, democratic parties and organizations, all of which were put on file after review and were handled by November 2020.
At the session, 18 attendees were awarded the title of excellent members of the CPPCC Qingzhen Committee in 2020, and 10 proposals were rated as excellent proposals.
