The county-level city of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province signed three project investment agreements on Jan 9 with China Conch Venture, a company providing energy conservation and environmental protection solutions, and Guiyang Conch Panjiang Co.

The projects have a total investment of 1.02 billion yuan ($0.16 billion) and involve power generation via domestic waste incineration and the comprehensive utilization of industrial solid and hazardous waste. They are located in an aluminum processing park in the Qingzhen Economic Development Zone and a factory of Guiyang Conch Panjiang Concrete Co.

The projects will use modern waste treatment technology to conduct scientific and environmentally friendly treatment of domestic waste and industrial solid waste in Qingzhen city, realizing social, ecological and economic benefits.

Fu Tao, Party chief of Qingzhen, said that the introduction of three projects would help the city to adhere to its commitment to ecological protection and innovation and maintain sustainable development.

"Qingzhen will speed up the creation of a market-oriented and law-based international business environment to ensure that enterprises invest, develop and work in the city," Fu said.

He also expressed the hope that the two sides would increase project matchmaking, implement the cooperation agreement and jointly promote the projects' completion.
