Xindian town in the county-level city of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province has improved the rural living environment since 2018 by focusing on garbage treatment, toilets and sewage.

The town has invested more than 50 million yuan ($7.73 million) in the living environment improvement campaign. It has implemented 12 sewage collection and treatment projects, built 26 new public toilets, upgraded the bathrooms of 4,466 households and renovated 367 rural houses.

Completing these projects has dramatically improved the rural living environment of Xindian town and laid a solid foundation for rural revitalization.

Xindian has also organized a volunteer service team to carry out regular village cleaning and maintenance of the rural environment. The team's membership has climbed from five volunteers at the beginning to more than 20 people.
