The county-level city of Qingzhen in Southwest China's Guizhou province held an event on Dec 4 to mark the 35th International Volunteer Day, which falls on Dec 5 each year. The event aimed to call on more ordinary people and entrepreneurs to participate in voluntary activities.
At the event, Guizhou University, Guizhou Tourism School, Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College and Qingzhen city jointly launched a voluntary service project.
Four volunteer service teams in Qingzhen city presented their voluntary projects. Related government departments and companies, including Qingzhen Rural Commercial Bank, have supported parts of these voluntary service projects to help benefit more people in need.
Qingzhen has established four major voluntary service brands and has carried out more than 100 featured voluntary service projects since 2018.
To date, the city has one volunteer service group, 339 volunteer service organizations and more than 70,000 registered volunteers, carrying out more than 6,000 voluntary service activities and benefiting more than 200,000 people.
