Qingzhen, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently hosted a speech contest focusing on touching stories from the city's fight against poverty in 2020.
The contest aimed to record and praise the moving deeds of grassroots poverty alleviation cadres in serving the masses. It highlighted their devotion to their work and demonstrated the spirit and dedication of grassroots cadres in the poverty alleviation-focused development of industry, education, employment, culture and medical services.
More than 160 people from towns, sub-districts, enterprises and institutions in Qingzhen city participated in this event.
At the final contest, 10 people out of 20 finalists won prizes, with one first-place winner, two second-place winners, three third-place finishers and four winners of the excellent award.
