Qingzhen, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, organized ethnic embroidery and beekeeping classes for the resident Miao people which kicked off on Dec 3.
More than 40 people from Liuchang town, including low-income folk, participated in the tutorials.
The three-day program invited some of the province's artisans to come and pass on their skills and knowledge. They also invited local cooperative beekeepers to teach bee-breeding techniques for China's subspecies of the Asian honeybee.
Che Weiwei contributed to the story.
