Qingzhen city -- a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has ratcheted up its efforts in tackling poverty, by employing poor laborers in public welfare positions since the start of the year.
The city has created a number of full-time jobs in areas including rural revitalization, urbanization, development of a safe and healthy city and natural disaster prevention and control.
Qingzhen has continued to develop public welfare posts guaranteed by State funds. It has also established a management protocol clarifying the time, scope and content of labor services, to ensure that State funds are spent properly.
In addition, the city has strengthened the management of a real-name verification system for public welfare posts. This is to prevent illegal and irregular situations and to conduct regular checks on the use of public welfare posts, so as to ensure they play a real role in poverty alleviation.
According to the local authorities, Qingzhen had developed 844 public welfare posts as of November 2020, with 735 people, including 365 poor labors, receiving employment.
