Qingzhen -- a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently staged a community lifelong learning week event for the development of a learning-oriented city.
The event, which kicked off on Nov 18, was sponsored by the Qingzhen education bureau and the community education service guidance center of Qingzhen. It was organized by Qingzhen Secondary Vocational Technical School and co-organized by Qingzhen Elderly University.
During the event, the city staged a variety of activities, including training for unemployed people in rural areas, knitting, embroidery and flower arrangements. There were also courses in healthcare, the legal system and refuse classification, as well as traditional cultural education activities, public welfare activities, poetry and cultural lectures.
The lectures, art performances and various courses helped stimulate the enthusiasm of locals to learn.
Going forward, the city will promote the concept of lifelong learning for the general public through various activities.
