Guizhou Ensure Pharmaceutical Co based in Qingzhen city, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, donated 50,000 yuan ($7156.68) to local five villages on July 21, in a bid to help poverty alleviation.
Zhongba, Damawo, Dongfenghu, Fangjiazhai and Hualong villages in local Xindian town each were given 10,000 yuan at the donation ceremony, hosted by the Qingzhen administration for market regulation.
Wang Dongyao, director of the administration, expressed his gratitude to the company for its social responsibility and urged the villages to use the funds well in reducing poverty and for the development of the rural economy.
Officials said the villages are specific targets being assisted by the administration, which has been helping local villagers develop local businesses, to help eliminate penury.
Moving forwards, the administration bureau plans to further encourage other companies to help in the fight against poverty alleviation and to provide economic assistance for rural development, especially in impoverished villages.
