Qinglongshan sub-district in Qingzhen, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently carried out test rescues and relief operations for incidents that occur in the rainy season, according to local officials.
The sub-district held a flood control work meeting in advance and added personnel to the flood control lead group.
Local officials formed a team to inspect the key areas and construction sites that are prone to flooding.
Flood prevention materials were supplied in advance, including a drainage pump, 260 spades, 30 life jackets, 70 raincoats and 70 rain boots. Meanwhile, Qinglongshan sub-district organized emergency rescue teams to help flood prevention and carry out emergency rescues.
Officials said they implemented 24-hour duty rota and a system where leaders take personal charge on the spot to ensure prompt warnings and reporting of flood conditions. Flood prevention notices and warning signs also have been posted.
