Qingzhen city in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been busy promoting the return to work by its businesses, in the wake of a relatively stable situation with the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, according to local officials.
The city held a meeting on facilitating resumption of corporate operations and production on Feb 16, to reduce the impact of the epidemic on local industries especially tourism and the service sectors.
Meanwhile, officials said the city will adhere to strict epidemic prevention and control measures, as well as poverty alleviation work, to maintain stable economic operations and social harmony and stability.
Since Feb 1, Qingzhen has set up 15 epidemic prevention and control detection and check points to achieve full-coverage monitoring of the exits of highways in the city -- and the entrances of national, provincial, and county roads into the city -- with 6,000 members of the police, traffic and medical departments on duty.
But on Feb 16, the city removed its 15 checkpoints and guardrails for epidemic prevention and control, including those at Miao'ershan and Qingzhen East toll stations, due to the better epidemic control situation.
