Qingzhen, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, is rolling out a series of measures to expand sharing of high-quality education resources, according to local officials.

They said the county level city has partnered with artificial intelligence company iFlytek to build an education cloud platform for 100,000 teachers and students in the city. So far, the platform has amassed more than 300,000 sets of learning material.

Officials said they launched an online open course program, where students can enjoy high-quality learning resources through the new CCtalk platform.

They said Qingzhen has also worked hard at improving infrastructure generally. Since September 2019, all public primary and secondary schools in the city have been provided with internet connections and network speeds have reached above 100 megabits per second, ensuring all classes can access the internet at high speed.

The city has added new multimedia teaching equipment in new classrooms. At present, 1,710 classrooms are equipped with multimedia teaching facilities in 121 primary and secondary schools in the city.

Officials said Qingzhen has made great efforts to improve its teachers' capability to use multimedia devices. They offered training courses in schools on more than 400 occasions and provided training courses in villages and towns for more than 4,200 teachers on 50 occasions.

Furthermore, Qingzhen sent 154 information technology teachers and backbone teachers to its eastern areas for training. They also invited leading teachers to train more than 230 teachers in the city.

Additionally, more than 1,000 teachers were trained through Hucheng Makerspace and more than 700 assistant teachers were trained through CCtalk platform.

The city also promoted the use of the cloud platform for teachers to share high-quality teaching materials.
