Southwestern China's Qingzhen city has undertaken a series of measures to improve the health of local residents, according to local officials.
Officials said that Qingzhen has set up a leading work group for health promotion at its hospital and offered training for hospital employees.
The city is making use of the new media to promote health education. The hospital currently has two official WeChat accounts, which have published more than 300 items on health information this year.
Meanwhile, the hospital's health education website has been officially launched, publishing real-time heath care tips and instructions.
Three comprehensive health education publicity columns and 23 special publicity columns for clinical specialists have been set up.
Additionally, the hospital has also established special clinics for smokers to quit smoking.
Qingzhen has also made efforts to achieve full coverage of health education for inpatients through innovation in its service model.
The city has opened a mobile platform for health education, which can promptly and specifically push health information to patients -- including disease prevention and precaution and health guidance -- after they leave hospital.
Since the platform was launched at the end of 2017, 661 specialized health education courses have been made available on this platform.
Additionally, the hospital has provided free medical and lectures in communities, towns, institutions and schools -- and offered trainings for local residents on the prevention chronic diseases and critical illnesses, including hypertension, heart disease and diabetes.
This year, the hospital has provided more than 3,500 free consultations, distributed more than 5,000 health education materials and conducted more than 30 health lectures.
