Southwestern China's Qingzhen signed a major cooperation agreement with a Hong Kong company for the construction of an e-commerce industrial park in the city, during the visit in November by Sun Shaoxue -- the city Party secretary -- to the massive CIIE expo in Shanghai.
According to the agreement, inked during Sun's participation in the second China International Import Expo on Nov 6, Qingzhen will cooperate with a Hong Kong logistics company to build an industrial park.
The industrial park, with a total investment of 600 million yuan ($85.2 million), will have a distribution center for e-commerce products, exhibitions and a sales center for imported food and a research center.
Sun Shaoxue, together with her delegation from Qingzhen in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, also visited some exhibition halls at the CIIE.
Sun paid close attention to some products that could be introduced to Qingzhen, such as Russian ceramics and Czech crystal ornaments.
She gauged quality of the products quality, their sales channels and the industrial distribution in China. During the visit, she discussed with the delegation the possibility for Qingzhen to introduce the products to the city.
Later, Sun also visited Ningbo in Zhejiang province, Wuxi in Jiangsu province and Shanghai.
Officials said she participated in some business promotions activities in the cities, where she also discussed Qingzhen's social and economic development.
She also gave briefings on the background of some companies in Qingzhen and industrial development plans for the city.
Sun conducted extensive discussions with potential business partners in projects including a big data incubation center, new materials and aluminum bag production.
During the visits, Sun made fact-finding tours to a total of 11 enterprises, three parks and promoted cooperation with four projects.
Under the theme "New Era, Shared Future", the second CIIE attracted more than 3,800 companies from 181 countries, regions and international organizations, with a total exhibition area of 360,000 square meters.
Guizhou organized an economic and trade exchange conference at the expo. During the conference, 40 project agreements worth $1.77 billion were signed in the fields of equipment manufacturing, chemicals, food, medicine, logistics and energy conservation.
