Qingzhen Yellow Glutinous Rice Cake has a history of several hundred years. It is made as follows: Glutinous rice is soaked in water and steamed in a steamer. Then the steamed glutinous rice is softened by a pestle and divided into large or small lumps. After adding sesame and white sugar (or soybean meal and white sugar), the dish has a pleasant smell and taste. 

According to legend, it was invented and spread by Zhuge Liang when he was fighting in the south. More than a decade ago, the vacuum-packed Qingzhen Yellow Glutinous Rice Cake with a wide variety became available in large and medium-sized supermarkets all over China, and since then, it has been popular, especially among the elderly.
