Guizhou Finance School, which is subordinate to the Finance Department of Guizhou Provincial Government, was formerly known as the Finance School and Financial Cadre's Training Class established in Oct 1951. Tian Jiyun, a former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the National People's Congress, was one of the school founders. The school gained its current name in June 1964 with the approval of the High Education Department of the People's Republic of China.
The school has good managerial conditions with a beautiful campus environment and complete hardware facilities. The school covers an area of 73,333.32 square meters and has construction area of 80,000 square meters. There is a teaching building, a computerizing teaching building, an office building, a library with more than 150,000 volumes of books, an auditorium, apartment-style dormitories, a cadre training building and other facilities. It offers an ideal place for multimedia computer labs, electronic reading rooms, language labs, simulation laboratories, multimedia classrooms and multi-function halls, academic lecture halls and more, perfect for students to study.
The teacher team is very strong. Most of the teachers are knowledgeable and excellent. Their teaching effect is very good. There are 206 teachers, including 175 full-time teachers and 12 part-time ones.
The school has made fruitful achievements. There have been more than one million graduates who have been working on many key positions. It was evaluated as Guizhou province's key secondary vocational school from 1990 to 1992 for three years in a row. In 2000, the Ministry of Education rated it as a national key secondary vocational school.
