As spring warms the city, Guiyang is ushering in a spectacular season of blossoming flowers. Xiaoshuang – the beloved character inspired by the lively macaques of local Qianling Mountain – takes viewers on a delightful flower-viewing tour of Guiyang.
In Guanshanhu district, nature and landscape design come together to create some of Guiyang's most immersive springtime experiences.
Azaleas bloom in Guanshanhu Park
In April, Congbi Garden inside Guanshanhu Park enters its peak season, with 61 varieties of azaleas in full bloom. Shades of pink, purple, and orange blend into a tapestry, transforming the Jiangnan-style garden into what visitors describe as a charming spring garden.
Covering about 20,000 square meters, Congbi Garden is Guiyang's only specialized azalea park. Rare varieties such as Fenrou and Lecheng are arranged in carefully designed color gradients, creating layered floral landscapes ideal for strolling and photography.
Following an upgrade completed in July 2025, the garden now also features a traditional opera stage and viewing platform, offering visitors an immersive experience that combines floral scenery with elements of Chinese culture.
