Starting Sept 7, the Guiyang Southwest International Trade City in the Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has introduced a series of promotional activities. These activities respond to Guizhou's policy of supporting the trade-in of old items for new ones.
This campaign covers many areas, including scrapping and replacing passenger cars, trading in household appliances, and updating home consumer goods. It aims to further boost consumption upgrades and promote green economic development.
Merchants in the trade city have enthusiastically participated, offering incentives to attract consumers.
The policy provides a subsidy of up to 20 percent on household appliance trade-ins, with a maximum discount of up to 2,000 yuan ($276.58) per transaction. It can be combined with existing company promotions.
Trade-in activities extend beyond household appliances to include trading used cars. This undoubtedly injects new vitality into the automobile market and offers tangible benefits to consumers.
This trade-in initiative benefits consumers by enhancing their quality of life through product upgrades. It also significantly boosts the trade city's sales revenue and customer traffic, further reinforcing consumer confidence and market vitality.
Since the launch of the trade-in activities, participating merchants at the trade city have experienced an average increase of around 40 percent in customer traffic and approximately 150 percent growth in sales revenue. Sales of popular categories such as energy-efficient appliances and smart home products have seen an average increase of nearly 30 percent.
