The constant hum of automated production equipment filled the workshop at the Guizhou Panpan Food Production Base in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 16.

With a total investment of about 2 billion yuan ($281.09 million), the Guizhou Panpan Food Production Base is one of the largest ecological characteristic food projects in Guanshanhu. It officially started production in December 2023.

Currently, the base mainly processes and manufactures products like sandwich cakes, soft cakes, plain cakes, and potato chips, primarily sold in Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Hainan, and other regions.

"The new production line started installation in July this year, trial production in September, and officially commenced production on Oct 4," said Liu Xiuying, the director of the slow-speed workshop at the base. This production line mainly manufactures semi-finished potato chip blanks, which will be processed into the unique Guizhou-flavored "spicy potato chips" in the finished production workshop, with some sent to other bases.

He Ping, the administrative manager of the base, stated, "We're ready to power forward in the fourth quarter, having made sufficient preparations in terms of raw materials, logistics, production management, personnel recruitment, ensuring that the supply lines are adequate behind the front-line production. We're striving to achieve our annual targets."
