Geely launches first all-electric SUV in Guiyang

The first all-electric SUV in the Geely Galaxy series, the Geely Galaxy E5, was unveiled at a global launch event in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 3.

This new vehicle is produced at Geely's Guiyang factory in Guanshanhu district, offering a total of eight color options and five different models.

Since its establishment in 2018, Geely's Guiyang manufacturing base has been primarily focused on producing clean energy "methanol" vehicles, high-end MPV multi-purpose vehicles, and mid-to-large SUV models. This initiative has facilitated the establishment of 42 supporting suppliers, with a cumulative investment of nearly 2 billion yuan ($278.61 million).

Moreover, collaborations have been forged with 42 secondary and tertiary educational institutions in Guizhou, leading to the cultivation of approximately 3,000 automotive professionals annually.

The industrial cluster effect and leading role of Geely's automotive manufacturing sector continue to have a significant impact, driving the high-quality development of Guizhou's automotive manufacturing industrial chain.
