This year's marathon featured four categories: a full marathon (42.195 kilometers), half marathon (21.0975 km), mini marathon (approximately 4.5 km), and online marathon.
The race course traversed through urban green areas such as Guanshanhu Park, Yueshanhu Park, Guiyang Karst Park, and Quanhu Park and passed by landmarks like the Eight Horse Statue, allowing participants to experience the charming allure of Guiyang's picturesque scenery as they ran.
The Guiyang Marathon was selected from among 1,000 Chinese marathons as an example case of the integration of sports and tourism development, and in 2024, it was certified as a World Athletics Label Road Race.
