Guanshanhu sees tourism surge over Qingming Festival holiday

During this year's Qingming Festival holiday, April 4-6, Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 451,500 visitors and generated a tourism revenue of 221 million yuan ($30.57 million), according to the district's bureau of culture, sports, radio, film, and tourism.

Also, the foot traffic in various commercial complexes (shopping centers) in the district reached 3.33 million during the holiday, with sales revenue amounting to 70.23 million yuan, marking a 43.83-percent year-on-year increase.

Over the holiday, self-driving, cycling, and hiking activities emerged as popular modes of travel for both residents and tourists. At the Baihuahu Scenic Area in Guiyang, locals enjoyed boating on the lake and exploring the lush green mountains. Meanwhile, in urban parks such as the Guanshanhu Park and Yueshanhu Park, many locals took the opportunity to relax and unwind with their families.

In addition, major shopping malls, supermarkets, and dining establishments in the district seized the consumption opportunities by introducing a variety of promotional activities, attracting residents and tourists to patronize their stores. This created a bustling atmosphere and boosted consumer spending.
