Guanshanhu carries out voluntary tree-planting activity

Local officials and residents of Guanshanhu district in Guiyang participated in a voluntary tree-planting activity on Feb 18, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday.

During the event, a total of 768 cotton rose trees were planted over a 12-mu (0.8-hectare) area.

Since its establishment in 2012, Guanshanhu district has consistently encouraged officials and the public to participate in voluntary tree-planting activities on the first working day after the Spring Festival. This has resulted in the planting of over 120 mu of trees.

In recent years, the district has been committed to environmental protection and green development.

In 2023, the district constructed and upgraded 12 pocket parks, completed the construction of 24 kilometers of urban greenway demonstration sections, opened Xingtang Park, and improved Donglin Park for public use.

As a result, the district's per capita urban green space has reached 17.64 square meters, and its forest coverage rate has remained stable at over 45 percent.
