During the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, welcomed a total of 424,541 visits, marking a 107.13-percent increase compared to the previous year.
The district's tourism revenue also saw a significant surge, reaching 280 million yuan ($38.9 million), a remarkable year-on-year increase of 126.35 percent.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair attracted over 70,000 visits. Its diverse array of lantern displays, wide variety of specialty snacks, and exciting cultural performances drew in tourists from both within and outside the province.
Over the holiday, rural tourism in Guanshanhu gained popularity. In Wengjing village of Jinhua town, a Spring Festival folk cultural tourism event was held. Various colorful Spring Festival activities, such as lantern riddle guessing games, rice dumpling tastings, and clay figurine workshops, attracted visitors and added to the festive atmosphere.

During this time, major commercial complexes in the district adorned themselves with new decorations and offered a series of diverse folk activities and promotional campaigns, all of which contributed to the rise in Lunar New Year consumption.
During the holiday, 12 large supermarkets and shopping malls achieved a cumulative sales revenue of 265.2 million yuan, representing an 8.84-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
