Temple fair opens in Guanshanhu

The temple fair of the 2024 Guiyang Guanshanhu Lantern Festival opened in Guanshanhu Park in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 30 with a joyous opening ceremony.

In addition to traditional cultural activities such as dragon and lion dances and floral parades, the temple fair will also feature folk performances involving acrobatics, singing and dancing, magic shows, and interactive entertainment.

Locals are particularly interested in the preparations for the Guanshanhu Lantern Festival, which are now in full swing with the construction of the three main entrance lanterns already completed.

Furthermore, nearly 100 sets of lanterns in various styles will be lit from Feb 6 to Feb 25, allowing locals to celebrate the Chinese New Year together.
