Guanshanhu's tourism market soars during holiday

Guanshanhu district saw strong demand for travel and a booming tourism market during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday spanning eight days from Sept 29 to Oct 6.

Over the eight-day period, Guizhou North Station and Jinyang Bus Station in Guanshanhu received a total of 2.01 million passengers. Passengers boarded orderly and no safety hazards occurred.

In addition, the district received a total of 509,547 visits over the holiday, an increase of 221.71 percent compared to the same period last year, generating 280.95 million yuan ($38.77 million) in tourism income, an increase of 236.47 percent compared to the same period last year.

Major shopping malls in the district launched festive activities during the holiday, seizing upon the holiday business opportunities and attracting a large number of locals and tourists.

From Sept 29 to Oct 6, nine shopping malls in Guanshanhu received a total of 2.51 million visitors, representing a 36.6-percent increase compared to the same period last year, with total sales revenue reaching 186.42 million yuan, a 30.2-percent increase.
