The 2023 Community Sports Games of Guanshanhu district kick off

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Community Sports Games of Guanshanhu district was held at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center on July 22.

The Games will take place from July to August in various locations around the district, including urban greenways, the Olympic Sports Center, Red Brick Square, and large-scale commercial complexes.

The Games are intended to be an event for all people, regardless of gender or age. The competition allows individuals to choose their own preferred time to participate in their favorite events.

Categories include team competitions and individual competitions, with divisions for children, young adults, and middle-aged and elderly individuals. There are a total of 10 competitions with 17 sub-categories such as dryland curling, rolling iron rings, skipping rope, 3v3 basketball games, 5-a-side football matches, and plaza dancing. Nearly 7,000 people have registered for the competition.

In recent years, Guanshanhu district has continuously improved and expanded sports facilities, creating places for public fitness. There are currently 1,683 sports facilities in the district, covering an area of 1.51 million square meters, with an average of 2.35 square meters of sports facilities per person.

Moving forward, Guanshanhu will continue to enrich sports activities for its residents.
