To enrich people's cultural life during the Spring Festival and to accelerate the upgrading of its cultural tourism industry, Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to implement a series of cultural and business tourism activities.
Guanshanhu also aims to make good progress in boosting its consumer market within the first quarter.
The Guiyang Mixc Shopping Mall will launch the Guanshanhu Goods Festival from Jan 10 to Feb 5, which includes an exhibition themed on the Year of Rabbit, and several goods fairs. Together with over 300 stores in the shopping mall, it organizes promotional activities to meet the customers' consumption needs. They include clothing, jewelry, international cosmetics, and home appliances.
The government also provides policies, consumption subsidy support, and 15 million yuan ($2.18 million) in funding to guarantee the operation of the goods festival and the rebound in market.
Additionally, the Guanshanhu Bird & Flower Paradise opened on Jan 13. The paradise covers a planned area of 30,000 square meters and can accommodate 300 stores. After completion, it will form a cultural hub for the flower and bird markets.
With the approaching Spring Festival, Guanshanhu has also made various efforts to create the festive atmosphere. For example, 13,000 lanterns will be hung at key road junctions while 600,000 pots of flowers will be planted along the roads, including Guanshan Road, Lincheng Road, and Yuntan Road.

What's more, taking the Guanshanhu Park as the center, the district plans to hang fixed long-term lamps to promote the Spring Festival atmosphere. The district is also expected to hang 40,000 decorative lights in the shape of Chinese knots, red lanterns and pentagrams to embellish an 8-kilometer stretch of road.
During the Spring Festival, the district will also put on several light shows to welcome the New Year.
