Mawang A Road and Sanma No 2 Road – once impassable roads in the Sanma area in Guiyang, were finally reopened to traffic on Jan 4.

"The potholes have finally disappeared, and now the roads extend in all directions, bringing the main urban area with a 10-minute drive," said a resident of the Sanma Area.

Last year, after receiving the project to construct the two roads, State-owned Guiyang Urban Construction and Investment Group immediately got to work.

"Mawang A Road is 720 meters long, while Sanma No 2 Road is 980 meters long. If they are not open, Mawang Road cannot be fully connected, and traffic congestion on the nearby Beijingxi Road and Baihua Avenue will increase, seriously affecting ease of travel," said Lu Yingkun, chief engineer of the group.

In view of the difficulty of relocating various complex underground pipelines in the process of road construction, the group contacted various property rights units and carried out the construction under the premise of ensuring safety and controllability.

According to reports, after the two roads were opened, the distance between the Sanma area and the Guanshanhu area was greatly shortened. The Guiyang-Zunyi and Guiyang-Huangping expressways, as well as the 210 and 321 national highways, also intersect here.
