The Guizhou Rui Yinniao embroidery training base was unveiled at the Changtanhe Zhansimei Embroidery Workshop in Changchong village, Zhuchang town, Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 1.

The first training session was also launched that day, and 25 peasant women from Changchong village will participate in a 10-day embroidery training course at the base.

The training course includes the production of horsetail embroidery of the Sui ethnic group. It will be taught by Wei Bailang, the intangible culture heritage inheritor of Sui horsetail embroidery in Sandu autonomous county of Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture in Guizhou.

Sui horsetail embroidery is a special embroidery technique passed down from generation to generation by Sui women.

It was included in the first national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.

In the future, the base will provide professional horsetail embroidery training for female embroiderers, develop more intangible cultural heritage products and cultural and creative products in line with local culture, help local female embroiderers increase their incomes, and contribute to the cause of rural revitalization.
