The Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has promoted its digital industries, the digitization of traditional industries, and has strengthened its digital governance, all with the goal of boosting its high-quality development.
The district regards the digital economy as an effective path to its industrial transformation, a vital support to improve its competitiveness, and a new engine for economic development.
According to Guanshanhu's big data bureau, the district has focused on software and information technology services to develop the digital industries, with the overall aim of becoming a particularly strong district in the digital sector.
Furthermore, the district has improved its digital technology innovation capacity, the scale and influence of the digital industries and developed new integrated industries to boost the digital sector.
Since the start of the year, it has continued to expand its investment channels, carried out investment promotions targeting developed areas with industrial clusters – such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – and promoted the implementation of projects.
To date, the district has introduced six new enterprises and 30 projects are under negotiation.
As for industrial digitization, Guanshanhu has advanced the integration of its big data and traditional industries.
It has introduced an enterprise that is exploring the digital transformation of agricultural planting, the traceability of agricultural product quality and safety, as well as monitoring and early warnings for the whole industry supply chain and full-cycle agricultural management. The district has also accelerated the application of agricultural-related e-commerce platforms.
Taking intelligent manufacturing as the core, the district has built a number of intelligent workshops and factories, and supported the establishment of industrial internet platforms by key enterprises.
A comprehensive financial services platform has been created to help enterprises reduce their financing costs.
In 2021, the output value of intelligent manufacturing in Guanshanhu was 1.25 billion yuan ($186.50 million), a year-on-year surge of 361 percent. On top of that, 20 big data integration applications projects were built and an estimated 230 enterprises benefited from the integration. The district's index for the deep integration of big data and the real economy ranked first among the 30 Class I regions in Guizhou province.
The district has also been committed to furthering the digital upgrade of its support services concerning people's lives. Local enterprises have been supported in the intelligent management of urban public facilities, R&D and the application of software and information technology services – such as in the intelligent community, healthcare and education.
