The Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has introduced 10 industrial projects and six backbone enterprises to move there since the start of the year, according to the district's investment promotions service center on March 15.

One of them, an industrial project supported by Anhui Conch Cement Co, will build regional headquarters in Guanshanhu, to be responsible for investments, procurements, marketing, logistics, innovation and management in the region.

To date, the six enterprises – including Donghao Lansheng Group, Taikang Healthcare Investment Holdings and Yummy Biotechnology Co – have brought in funds of 985 million yuan ($154.67 million) to the district. In addition, a total of 40 major projects are currently under discussion, involving investment of more than 11 billion yuan.

The district has collected 128 investment clues through the recommendations of provincial and municipal departments, overseas investigations and third-party institutions. More than 10 percent of them subsequently became planned projects.

A new guideline released in January by the State Council, China's Cabinet, is expected to exert a significant and far-reaching impact on the promotion of high-quality development in the province.

Guanshanhu is said to have firmly seized the opportunity with both hands and improved its investment promotions to achieve industrial breakthroughs.

Officials from the district's investment promotions service center said they would make every effort to attract more leading industries and enterprises, to enrich the district's industrial supply chain.
