Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has had 154 companies applying for the "high-tech company" title since the beginning of this year, 53 of which were approved. The district is currently home to 156 high-tech companies.
Guanshanhu has launched various supporting policies to cultivate more high-tech companies and offers awards to encourage more companies to apply for the "high-tech company" title.
From 2016 to 2020, Guanshanhu offered 54 million yuan ($8.48 million) in awards for technological innovation, more than 30 million of which was given to advanced technologies.
Based on the district's industrial development plan and advanced technologies with national support, Guanshanhu has screened companies in various categories and selected companies with strong R&D capabilites, good development prospects and rapid development in high-tech company cultivation.
Guanshanhu has so far selected more than 300 companies as potential high-tech companies.
The district also introduced an online service platform to serve technology companies, allowing companies to apply technology projects and the district to manage high-tech companies online.
