Guanshanhu aims to be AIDS prevention demonstration area

Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – launched a campaign for it to become one of the fourth round of national AIDS comprehensive prevention and treatment demonstration areas, at a ceremony held on July 15.

It's understood that the goal is to contain the spread of AIDS, explore innovative prevention and treatment methods, accurately implement prevention and treatment measures and improve the health of residents.

During the launch ceremony, a promotional video on AIDS prevention and treatment was played, while the newly established AIDS prevention volunteer team read out the proposal.

Online and offline prize-winning Q&A activities were also staged, to boost awareness of AIDS prevention and treatment.

To encourage more people to participate in the campaign, the district has established a team of 10 volunteers.

Moving forwards, Guanshanhu district plans to continue to strengthen its AIDS prevention and treatment work, explore innovative prevention and treatment methods, intensify screening efforts and widely promote knowledge about AIDS prevention and treatment.
