A new community health service center in Jinyang sub-district – in the Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently completed construction and started operating on July 2.
Wu Kunling, deputy head of the Guanshanhu district government, attended the unveiling ceremony and said she hoped the center would be convenient and improve overall community medical standards.
With a total floor space of 4,000 square meters, the new facility has 40 medical workers and 50 beds – meeting the needs of 62,000 residents.
The center is equipped with departments for medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, traditional Chinese medicine, stomatology and medical technology. It also reportedly provides basic public health services including prevention and control of infectious diseases, health education and maternity and child health care.
Built by the Guanshanhu district bureau of health and Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, the community health service center is widely expected to improve the district's overall medical ecosystem.
