The construction of 10 projects along Shubo Avenue, which in English means Big Data Expo Avenue – located in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has reportedly made steady progress.
That's according to a recent statement from the big data development and management bureau of the city's Guanshanhu district.
The Shubo Avenue work represents a strategic push to optimize Guiyang's industrial layout and bolster its economic development.
The section at Shubo Avenue in the Guanshanhu district will feature services for people's livelihoods and industry development. Its major projects will range from digital facilities to intelligent transportation and industry clusters.
In addition, the district has promoted the application of big data technology in its governance, business and residents' lives. Six application centers – including facilities for big data innovation, big data transactions, big data finance and blockchain innovation – have been built, to accelerate the development of the district's big data industry.
Last year, 1,242 5G base stations were installed in Guanshanhu. The district has reportedly attracted seven big data companies to locate there and it has helped 50 enterprises integrate with big data.
Revenue from the internet, software and information technology service industry last year hit 4.8 billion yuan ($750.4 million), an increase of 59.9 percent on the previous year.
