All 34 industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.06 million) or more – as of Feb 22 had resumed production in the Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The companies are mainly engaged in automobile manufacturing, general equipment manufacturing and building materials. Guizhou Geely Automobile Manufacturing Co, a typical example, returned to normal operations on Feb 18.
The company rolled out a series of measures to help resume output, with stay-put employees receiving allowances during the recent Spring Festival holiday, while returned employees received bonuses and transport subsidies.
In 2021, Geely plans to further increase its sales and move into overseas markets, including the Philippines.
Other ambitious companies in the district, such as Guiyang Zhongan Technology Co and Guizhou Xingdaxing Building Material Co, are also pushing hard for development.
According to officials from the district bureau of industry and information technology, Guanshanhu will increase its industrial capacity for inventories and production for the new-year economic goal.
