Guizhou Geely Automobile Manufacturing Co in Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, exported more than 600 cars to the Philippines in January, trying to gain a foothold in growing overseas markets.
In response to the domestic and overseas situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has devoted more attention to increasing R&D investment and enhancing its innovation and technical advantages.
The company's first batch of exports – a seven-seat SUV model catering to Filipinos' demands for spaciousness – was exported to the Philippines in October last year.
Its production and sales volume reached a new high when its Haoyue SUV model hit the market in June last year. In 2020, the company's output value and annual revenue increased by 59 percent and 68 percent year-on-year, respectively.
The company plans to build a unique product portfolio and further explore overseas markets. Taking product export as a vital market growth point, it will create an automobile manufacturing industry cluster in Guiyang to promote the city's high-quality development of the regional manufacturing industry.
