The Guiyang North Railway Station epidemic prevention and control working group – from Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently received official recognition, reflecting its sterling contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
An important transportation hub, the Guiyang North Railway Station – which is located in the district – has been a major barrier for the province to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 since the pandemic's outbreak. The district immediately established a novel coronavirus prevention and control working group, which promptly set up monitoring posts at the station's entrances and exits to contain the spread.
Under the arrangement, the working group was made responsible for passengers' temperature measurements, track inquiries, indoor ventilation and public disinfection. It is also responsible for the information registration and route tracking of travelers identified with the fever. It sends infected travelers to designated hospitals and calms passengers.
Members of the working group remain at their posts, in strict accordance with the latest epidemic prevention measures.
