Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made efforts to optimize its industrial structure to accelerate economic development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
According to an official report, the district's GDP has increased from 15.32 billion yuan ($2.37 billion) in 2015 to 65 billion yuan in 2020, moving from 25th place to fifth place in the province.
Industrial strength is the core competitiveness of Guanshanhu's economic development.
The district has attracted the Geely industrialization project to promote the whole automobile industry chain's development, including production, sales and servicing. Automobile manufacturing enterprises in the district have produced 119,300 vehicles with an industrial output value of 13.5 billion yuan.
The district has also established many commercial complexes to promote the development of the service industry. In 2020, the district added 65 new financial enterprises, earning tax revenue of 5.22 billion yuan, year-on-year growth of 24.73 percent.
Also, the integration of big data and the real economy has become a driving force for Guanshanhu's economic development. In 2020, the district's number of big data companies and 5G base stations increased to 1,000 and 1,240, respectively.
The revenue of software and information technology services was expected to reach 3.8 billion yuan in 2020.
