Guanshanhu district develops into pilot for civilization

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang was selected on a list of national pilots for a civilization practice center, according to a document released recently by the Party Central Committee's Spiritual Civilization Development Steering Commission.

Since it started in August 2018, the construction of national pilots for civilization practice centers have achieved remarkable results, officials said.

The document points out that the number of the pilots will be increased from 50 to 500 by October 2020, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and cities in China.

In recent years, Guanshanhu district has attached great importance to the construction of a civilization practice center and it took effective measures to improve its understanding and implementation of the project.

It established a platform for promoting the practice of civilization by using big data technology. To date, more than 27,443 people has registered as volunteers and 117 volunteer groups has been established through the platform, helping to carry out around 859 voluntary service activities.

Officials said that in the future, the district plans to accelerate the construction of substations to provide professional training.

In addition, it will introduce professional teams to enhance the capability of management and services, improving work efficiency.
